Before I begin this post, please allow me to preface it with a brief explanation for my absence for the last couple of months. I recently suffered a difficult illness that knocked me down a few pegs for a little while there, but I am much better now, back on my feet and running again. I’ll be doing my best to catch up in the next few posts. In the last three of my creative blog posts, I focused on my past endeavors creatively speaking. Now in this post, and for several more to come, I'll be shifting my focus to what I am currently doing. I have several on-going projects in both the realms of writing and art. Some of these projects are on more of a long term schedule, while others are much shorter. I’ve decided to just mix it up and talk about whichever of these projects strikes me for each post. We’ll start with a little notation about a devotion booklet for Shady Grove Presbyterian Church, and corresponding show in the Narthex. Strictly speaking this is now a past endeavor; however my illness plays a part in this matter, for I had originally intended to get this blog post written sooner. But the protracted recovery time from my staph infection slowed down the pace of my achievements these last couple of months. As it turned out, I just barely had enough energy to pull off doing the show itself. I titled this show “Advent Emerging”, and it consisted of 14 pieces from the total of 25 pieces that adorned the devotion booklet devoted to the Advent season. The show hung in the Narthex at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church, from November 29th, through December 27th, to correspond with the same time period when using the devotional booklet. It was a fine show that drew a great deal of positive feedback. I was quite happy to share my artistic gifts with the good folks at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church during the 2015 Advent season. I also created a 2016 calendar at my Zazzle store making use of the 14 images of this show, with an image on the front cover, and one on the back cover, then the remaining 12 spread throughout with each month. I called it the 2016 Emerging calendar and it can be found at: 2016 Emerging Calendar
